Mexico. Mehico. Messico!
Big trip this febraury, but unfortunately a 'solo' trip (no Oleg this time, but we have big plans for the near future!)
Even if it's not really a completely solo trip: my great friend Rodrigo will wait for me. 7, maybe 8 years since I miss him. Since the very first year of university together, in Milano. Since a new world of possibilities was just hatching. Now I will have the chance to hug him again! Can't wait for it!
The plan is to go to Mexico city first, where I will be host by Rodri and family for the weekend. He will be my Cicerone in the most crowded city of the world. The most crowded. Since the 5th there will be a plus one!
On Monday the battle plan is to fly to Merida, Yucatan. A bit more than 100 euro to be in the biggest city of the Yucatan. All on my own, open to the world. From there the majestic Chichen Itza, Progreso (beach at the north-side of the Yucatan, theoretically with flamingos), Uxmal and the surrounding. Next stop? 7 hours of bus trip through Campeche, headed to Palenque. Here is going to be awesome: the historical Maya ruins wait for their Indiana Jones (ok, maybe I am setting the bar a little bit too high.. but I could get an appropriate hat! and the whip! I'll surely need a whip).
After three days there, I'll fly back to Mexico city, one more night at Rodri place (who has my eternal gratitude for the hospitality, and a luggage full of european food) and then back to Europe.
Yo trato de mejorar mi espanol para hablar con la gente locales.. but it's going to be tricky in few days to improve my Ital.. ehm, Spanish. I meant Spanish.
Stay tuned for the pics (even if I basically have no decent camera.. but I never claimed to be Cartier-Bresson, right?)
